Italian stillettos are just okay.  They use older design springs instead of coil fired that modern autos use.  The fit and finish is decent, but the blade lockup has some wobble and the steel quality isn't there.  It is usually just 440 stainless (not 440C).

The blade locks don't always work 100%, and the larger models 11" and 13" are too unweildy.  I would never use these knives for fighting or even to cut things.  They are built nice enough to last a long time, but can't take any abuse what-so-ever.

I have a 13" model with real stag bone handles and a 440 stainless blade.

For $80 I think you will like it, but you can get a much nicer modern auto for a little more.

What auto do you recommend?

Take a look at the two models Zero Tolerance makes that are autos.  I have both and they are built like tanks and very powerful.  Also the Protech Emerson autos are awesome for the money.
