Is this stuff quality?
What can you tell me about it? |

While it has more carbon than your std. 420 (0.45% vs. 0.20%), I would not call it a good knife steel. It does not hold an edge very well, when compared with a lot of the other stainless steels out there. It is used by Buck. Personally, I would buy a Buck with better steel, or look at a different knife. |

Quoted: 12c27? When done correctly, it is hard wearing and rust resistant. Better because it has not been resulfurized, but I would not call it premium. If this is a Buck knife see if they offer it in 154CM or S30V. S30V is hard, but when sharpened it is just plain scary. |

Not a Buck, LMF 2. Unless you need the non conductive handle, I think the Gerber Prodigy is a better deal. The Gerber Big Rock is a steal, though not made in the USA. For the price of the LMF 2, an Ontario RAT-5 is a better knife. I got the full ASEK kit off Amazon for $62. |
