So I decided to make a knife for myself that I might be able to hold onto for more than a week. So, I decided that the only way to do that was to make one so horrendously expensive that only a select few might actually want it.

I made a HellHound Mk VI in CPM154CM. 6" satin finished blade with a fully sharpened clip point with MCAM G10 grips.

Here it is with a .45 TAP round and my Zero Tolerance 0300 just to give a sense of scale on just how thick this thing is

And here she is with the SEER Mk V in Elmax steel from the other thread.

I am really diggin the CPM154CM. It was just as easy as 1095 to work, took a satin finish really well and is sharp as all get out. I've got it sharpened to 25 degrees inclusive.

Very nice design.

I wish a sharpened clip was present on more knives, it generally doesn't negatively affect utility tasks and it facilitates the back-cut as well as better tip penetration.

Wow. Just wow.

Since no one else asked, how much would something like that run and do you prefer the Elmax or CPM154CM so far?

BTW. Still in love w/my Conquest. The stocks seem like they were actually made for my hand the fit is so perfect!

Thanks man. It's runs like 3 testicles and a spleen. I think I added it to my website, since I can't openly say here.  Actually, as cool as this one is, and don't get me wrong the CPM154CM is pretty damn bad-ass, I have to give the nod to the Elmax. It seems to have a toothier edge to it, even though I hone the edges of both the knives the same, the Elmax knife just seems to rip right through stuff and seems to stay razor sharp longer. I never would have dared to beat on a 5/32" thick knife with a 24 degree blade angle before, but that freakin' SEER in the Elmax just keeps taking it and taking it.

But, to take something away from all this gushing, I haven't put the HellHound through as much as I have the SEER. Once I get this batch cleared off my bench I plan on spending some quality time with the HellHound to see what the CPM154CM will take. Should be interesting to compare the SEER with a 24 degree single bevel to the HellHound with a 25 degree inclusive double bevel. Either way, it's gonna be fun.

Although, I will admit I took it out for a little walk this weekend. I did get to beat on it some. HellHound made a friend.

And I've got 2 others, this one and one with black grips, that I finished up for some folks. I really want to take this one and the CPM154CM one and beat the snot out of them together but I don't think my customer would appreciate it much.
