I was thinking about selling my Buck Strider 888 but there's nothing on my short list for a replacment. Anyone have any suggestions for a replacement all purpose fixed blade knife?

I think first the questions are:
1. what price range
2. what size
3. what do you plan to do with it

The HEST fixed blade is nice, but smallish

The entire line from ESEE are splendid, however as it was pointed out above there are multiple details that factor in to a replacement.

"Cheap" but not made from flattened metal conduit type cheap. I dont plan to use it very hard, but would like a blade I could use hard if I had too. Using the Buck Strider as the benchmark, is there something similar in size for $50-$75 thats as good or better as a general purpose knife?
I'm not an "Operator", just a guy who likes to camp and go hiking but has a limited budget for things that don't make me money like tools for work. I could never justify a $300 knife, it'd never get used and I'm not seeing myself using a knife in any way that would require a high end blade.

Ive got a couple other fixed blade knives, Cold Steel mostly, but honestly the only knives that get used are whatever folder I'm carrying daily, and a USMC bolo machete I use for camping. I've been kicking around the idea of putting new scales ontyhe bolo machete for the last couple years as the wood scales on it are getting loose. The blade has some pitting and scuffed up pretty good.  My step dad carried it as a USN Corpsman and it's been the "camping knife" as long as I can remember.

K-bar, grind off the back half of the guard if it gets in your way.

If you don't mind some work
OR

any of the 3 will give you years of good use at a bargain price.
