Does the Corps still issue KA BARs?  The fixed-blade numbers with the leather disk handles?

In 4 years I only saw one person get issued a KBar and that was a Navy Corpsman.

actually the answer is Yes and no.  Here is the new Ontario OKC-3S official bayonet for the M16A2.  As you can see, it is a very efficient 8" fighting knife as well and actually feels really good in the hand. You can buy the Ka––bars on base, as they are a little bit lighter weight, but this does the job of bayonet and combat knife pretty well.  My son's in and he really like his.. especially with the EGA in the handle.

I have seen Ontarios bayonets in Quantic, Camp Lejeune, and Kaneohe lately.

Thanks all.  The styling of the new bayo definitely testifies to the popularity of the old K bars.

Ka-Bar's are issued with the pistol. If you get the rifle then you get a bayonet.
