Well, after admiring Richard Derespina's K-bit's for god knows how long know. I decided it was time to try one out. I now see why not a lot of makers do them. It was VERY difficult for me, specially being a Rookie. But I think for my first go at it I did just fine.

This is going to one of our Troops-U.S. Army. He bought an Entry-Tool from me and was my first customer. I told him I wanted to show my support and make him a blade to take with him back to the sand box in October. He decided on a K-Bit. I immediately thought....oh great.....Its time to push myself harder than ever. :D It is a gift for him, so I dont think he will be too disappointed

Why a lot of people dont find Karambits "Practical" I have always loved the design and seeing what Rich does really inspired me once I got into knife-making.

So, before I babble on any further. Here it is:

Cut from 1/4" x 3" 5160
Red-White & Blue Micarta from FOG AKA Todd from the forum
Kydex sheath w/Tek-Lok
Jeweled finish but you cant see it in the pics:(

Thanks for looking, guys!

Very nice work. I'm particularly impressed with the ring on the handle... I haven't worked with micarta but from the feel that I've gotten on some of my knives, I'm impressed that you managed to get it so thin in the ring.

Thank you!! Everyone keeps telling me that....but like anyone, when you make something you are your worst critic. I see improvement with every knife, so my confidence and designing is getting alot better! I appreciate your support buddy.

Yes, I press all my kydex and make the fire-steels that go with the blades. That takes practice too, I have an ever growing pile of kydex.....LOL But like everything I am getting better with every shot. I send out for heat treat until I can get my Evenheat one of these days Other than that all of it is done with my own hands and machinery. I also have some of my designs cut by waterjet if I like it enough. I make a design, test it and if it passes or I have enough interest I have it cut. Saves so much time on the bandsaw

Thanks again for replying! It still blows me away everytime I get a compliment on my work.

Much respect fellas.
