Hi, saw a Benchmade 7500S tanto, wondered if anyone has used one, how they compare to other Benchmade autos (such as AFO)? Looks pretty solid, but is the the lock-up on these BM's fairly strong or are they more of a light duty piece?
Thanks for info. |
| Benchmade 7500S is a very nice knife, it's one of Benchmades early autos. I have a NIB 7500 and it's typical benchmade quality. That said I would concerter it a collectors item...more then a user. As far as Benchmade auto go I like the 7500 over the AFO simplely because it feels better in the hand ...the AFO is kind of clunky. But the lock and blade steel is the same on both the AFO and the 7500. The blade style on the AFO is [imo] better for every day cutting, then the tanto blade on the 7500. |

Also...and this maybe a problem if you plan on EDC. The BM7500 doesn't have a pocket clip either, so it's loose pocket carry/ pouch or installing one yourself. This is the main issue with the 7500 for EDC. I have one but carry a 5500 instead because of the clip. The 7500 is a nicely made, solid knife. |

For some reason Benchmade was slow to add pockit clips to their autos. My Large Reflex BM2000 doesn't have one either, but the Mel Pardue BM3000 does...which I believe was made about the same time. |
