Read on hear about 2 months ago about benchmade's lifesharp program.  Had one I had not carried for a while because it would not open and close well anymore.  Sent it and $5 in on 12/14/09 came back today  new blade and as good as new.  THANKS BENCHMADE.

It's a good service they offer. I've only done it once and was a little disappointed at how much blade material they removed in order to resharpen it. Too many times of this and the blade will be considerably shorter.

I think if it got too bad, they'd replace the blade for you.

I've heard their sharpening can be hit or miss although I've never personally used it. My guess is the do it VERY quickly. Howveer, their customer service is great and they will always repair / replace and make things right if need be.

They sharpened a lot of metal off of my first knife but I broke the tip off, approx. 1mm.

I sent mine in my original box.  The sent it back in a genric box.  I was disappointed at that.

I believe there site says to not send in the original box cause it won't be returned.  Sorry it was the return letter.  http://www.benchmade.com/about_knives/warranty/LifeSharp_Return_Letter.pdf
