I cannot say that I am much of a knife guy, but I have built up a fairly decent collection of Benchmades, Spydercos, Gerbers, etc. that I carry at work. I will also confess that one of my primary reasons for going with these companies is that they offer sharpening services. I don't abuse my knives, use them for what they were designed for, and certainly don't trust myself enough to try to sharpen them.

In any event, who are the online, go-to vendors for knives (Benchmade, Spyderco, Kershaw, etc.) these days? I have done a pretty well at capitalizing on closeout sales. Any recommendations?

I think you nailed the top 3 or 4 most popular companies for folders.

First, I think you're supposed to wait longer than 4 hours before you bump a thread.

But, to answer your question, I like knife center.  Decent prices and I haven't had any issues with them.  Although, I think others may have had issues –– but I'll let them chime in.

I always end up sticking with Benchmade. I've been carrying one or another for over a dozen years now. If I buy online, it's normally from knifeworks.com

Try Amazon.com no joke.

Got the best deal I could find on the net with 2 day free shipping.

ETA was a COLDSTEEL Scimitar.

I agree, as Benchmade has treated me A-OK. Just looking at other sources.

It all depends.

What type of knives are you inquiring about?
- Folding
- Fixed blade
- Multi-tool

How do you intend to use your knives?
- Everyday carry
- Self defense
- Utility

Primarily folding, for everyday carry, self defense, law enforcement applications.

Having re-read my original post, I don't think I was that clear. I am looking for the best dealers from where to acquire knives, not the knife companies themselves.

I've used:

New Graham
Blade HQ
Your Cornerstore com
Poor Fish
Cutlery Shoppe
Ebay

to name some.  I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.  I've also picked up a few locally at stores but they don't have nearly the sort of selection the online vendors have or the low prices.

They're prices vary so do some research and hopefully you will get the best deal.  All the mentioned vendors provided quick service and more importantly, when things go wrong, they will work with you to resolve the problem.

Good luck,

Dan

He's shilling for his own company. I booted him. Do a search of his other posts, they all say the same thing.

New Graham Knives is good. I wanted a knife that was out of stock. I sent an email expressing interest. Later I got a personal email letting me know the knife was available.

I've bought a lot of stuff from Knife works. There are so many of these intenet knife places it's a pain in the ass finding who has the cheapest knife with shipping.

I usually go with
http://gpknives.com/
or

http://newgraham.com/store/

Have done a transaction or two with
http://www.knivesshipfree.com/

U can save a lot of money purchasing from the various forums too.  Espescially if you are going to use the knife, that is the way to go.
