Stay away from Cold Steel

I've been very impressed with Kershaws offerings lately

there should be a nice selection in that price range

Also look at Spyderco, Benchmade, Emerson

I would go with this one Kershaw Junkyard Dog Composite ~$80 composite blade, THICK liners very smooth

There are a lot of good folders by Spyderco that are in your price range. The salt series of knives have a lot of good knives, the Endura is a knife I carry often, also the native is a stout strong design that is very good.

Cold steel is ok but very overpriced for what the are.

How is the handle on endura?  It looked rather light.  I hate the cold steel voyager knives because the handles are too damn light.  That plastic material might be strong, but I hate the way it feels as far as the weight.  I was thinking about grabbing either a waved endura or a emerson commander.  I know the commander is a solid knife, but I keep hearing people swear by the endura.  Pulling the trigger on an endura would hurt my pocket a little less.  The cheapest I have found a commander was like 130-140.

The only spyderco I even handled was a civilian and that was years ago.  I remember it being a brutal looking knife, but I can't remember anything else about it.

In my opinion, Kershaw makes the best folders out there for their pricepoints, and they back up their product 100%.

Kershaw Blur or Tanto Blur with assisted open. they say on the site $100 but i got mine(tanto blur) for $50 and they have the best customer service if you ever tear it up just send it back if they cant fix it. Brand new knife headed your way. Cant go wrong. I would recomend to stay away from cold steel, terrible craftsmanship and for the same price you can get a better Kershaw.

Any blue or black class Benchmade.  Sog has some great offerings.  So does Kershaw.  So does Spyderco, Buck, Gerber, Cold Steel, Ka Bar, I could go on and on but basically if you pick a major manufacturer then youll be fine

Buck Strider if you can find one as I believe they are discontinued now.

Best thing next to a real Strider

Just picked up a Smith & Wesson M&P assisted opener for $32 from Knife Center.Seems like a decent small folder for the money.

I have the cheapest Buck Strider, about $ 60? It really needed to be sharpened and is pretty thick for pocket carry.
I have gotten into Spydercos, but Benchmades are very nice.

The Kershaw Vapor (Plain) Knife. The Vapor blade is AUS6A stainless-steel. The handle is 410 stainless-steel. Both the handle and the blade have a smooth flat sheen. Plus, the handle is designed with open construction to reduce the weight of the knife and it adds a little something extra to the look.

This is a lightweight, very sharp work horse.  For the price if you lose it or break it doing something stupid like I did, just go get a new one.

I have had many different Kershaw knifes and not a bad one ever.

My two most carried knives for the past few years has been either a SOG Trident or a Kershaw Blur. Both are under $80 and are great, assisted open, knives from solid companies.
