I'm pretty sure I've seen a thread on here, detailing some techniques for wrapping a handle in paracord. I know, I know, if I was a paying member I could search it myself. I'll cough up the cash soon. Could someone give me a linky?

When I wrap with paracord I first put the cord in hot water and wrap while it is still a little wet. They I dry it with a hairdryer. Comes out nice.
