I am considering adding an Emerson Commander to my collection.   Are they worth the money? Any downfalls? Good for every day use?

my grandmother got me one for Christmas

I have found it to be a great blade- and FAST to deploy.

They come pretty sharp, and definitely cut well out of the box.  Some people send them off to get reground to .10- which makes them cut very well.

The only drawback is the liner-lock.  Other than that it's a great blade and totally worth the scratch.

I have one and like it but I found that under hard use, the grip is a little squishy.  I feel like it's too easy to squeeze together when doing heavy cutting.  It is super fast to deploy with that wave cut.

Thanks for the information.  I think I am going to pick it up the next time I am at my dealer.  That is unless anyone can talk me out of it.

I have had one since they first came out.  My original had taken a ton of abuse as an EDC.  The only negative I can see is that they are harder to sharpen than other Emerson designs.

I picked up my Commander today.  It is by far the best folding knife I have ever put my hand on.
