| do you think this knife is really worth 400 bucks? |
I would assume that he is talking about Surefire |
|
No. It may be worth that, but I wouldn't but it. Get a SOG or something for $60. If you lose it, it'll suck but it won't be the end of the world. I don't lose many knives (have lost two And what does a $400 knife do that a $60 knife won't? |
worth 400 bucks? I think you're delusional. yeah, maybe, if you pay by-the-word in the Tacticool brochure but that things honestly one of the most poser-oriented tool I've seen in a long time. OK, it's made of a good steel but just what are you going to open with that "wrench"? the wire cutter is only useful for wire small enough that you could simply cut it with the blade, so why's it there? bling? for the same reason a dog licks his balls- because he can? and what's with the glass-breaker? webcutter? please, is this a rescue knife? if so, why does it have a sharp point? it's like a committee made up of Chinese toy makers designed it. and btw, can you picture yourself having this knife in your hand all day using it as a working knife? your hand will be hamburger before long. nah, I think the primary purpose of that knife it to show it to people. it's for the Transformers generation. it's a nice $150 knife... |
Guys pay the same and more for a CR Sebenza which don't have anything but a blade; at least this knife has useable features that work and although I don't have any pictures of it currently it has been used for around 3 months now and no it don't chew your hand up as suggested by the above poster, but then I have working hands. Blade has still not required shapening and it's excellent steel, may not be for everyone but the screwdriver feature has come in quite handy on numerous occasions and the glass breaker makes an excellent kubaton. mike |
I'd say NO. I've owned SF knives, and was afraid to carry them for fear of losing them.![]() Carry a resonably priced tactical folder or true rescue knife (blunt tip, belt cutter) like a Spiderco, and get a nice multitool. You'll save several hundred dollars for ammo! Plus WTF is up with a "wrench" in the middle of the grip? I'd be so fuggin' pissed trying to actually "use" that "wrench" that I'd throw the thing in a river out of sheer frustration...I thinks it's teh ghey. At $400 its the Liberace of knives. |
|
No. It looks like a nice knife and all, but I just don't see $400 worth of knife when I look at it. I think that Surefire must have gotten confused by all of the people paying big money for their flashlights and decided that they could pull off the same thing with knives. The only problem is that Surefire isn't the only company that makes good quality knives, although they do seem to be charging more than any other company. |
| I carry mine daily. It holds an edge very well, opens quickly, locks tightly, and is light for it's size. I have used all of it's innovative design features at one point or another and I remain satisfied with the purchase. Worth is totally subjective. If you have to ask... |
| A guy on my job has one and loves it. It definitely is an "attention-getter". People always ask to see it. $400 though? I don't know. If I was the kind of guy that's really into knives or one that wants a knife that doesn't look like every other knife out there, I'd buy one. |
