I'm looking at getting a new fixed blade EDC knife for some general purpose use like cutting rope or cutting 100 mph tape.

I'm deployed in Iraq right now , so I don't need a huge Rambo knife.  Just something small to put on my IBA or belt.

I'm looking at a Ontario Knife RAT 5.  ( I was looking at a Becker Crewman, but can't find them anymore)

Does anyone have the RAT 5?  Any reviews on them?

Thanks.

banana-clip, I'm currently here in Iraq, and I've been toying around with few knives.  I like the ~5" bladed knives, mostly for ease of carry...not really needing a big chopper for most utility chores.  Here's what I've been T&E'ing:

Mad Dog PATAK (expensive, but I've been using it in uniform since 1999)
Mission MPK-10A2 (great knife for the money, but you need a better sheath)
Fehrman Last Chance (love it, but expensive)
TOPS Pasayten (more of an outdoors camping knife)
Strider Mod 10 Mk 1 (nice by way to expensive for what you get)
Becker BK 10 (good, just hard to find)
Randall #15 (good standard to go by, part of my collection since early '90's)

and my Randal TAK...after using it I think I would have prefered the RAT 5 as the TAK's handle is pretty big.  Overall, excellent knife for the money, good preformance.  However, I would make sure you get the combo sheath package from Normark...on-scene tactical sheaths.
