FedEx delivered a Murray Carter neck knife to my house today.  This was a incentive for purchasing something else.  They have a very nice catalog that came with it.  I did a goodsearch.com search on it (goodsearch gives to charities like the NRA, and my University so I'm trying to use that more).

I have no idea what I got as far as:
Quality.  It looks like these are at least somewhat hand made.

Durability.  Reviews sound like it is durable.

It has the "S" mark on the blade which means "Blue Super Steel Core".  Anyone know what that means?  Other cores listed are White Steel #1 core, and forge welded blade in his shop "Hon Warikomi" or "Hon Kasumi".

I'm not really a blade person.  I carry the average joe 6 pack knife for daily work.  I do not know what I do not know.

Any and all help greatly appreciated.
