Any good?

Every trip to the desert, i pick up a knife. Their selection is usually crappy, however they have this model. I've seen them before, and been thinking about one for a while. Any feedback?  They also have a titanum coated model.... worth the extra $$?

There not a bad knife, but the handle material is on the cheap side, I don't trust the lock to the point that if you hit bone, the blade won't fold back on you, and the blade really doesn't hold an edge for long.

I have one that I carry when I can't carry a 3550 (it's a states thing when I travel), and I think of the Gerber knifes more as disposable items that if I need to trash, it's not the end of the world.
Note: Since I can buy 3550's for around the same price, I tend to treat them a disposable items as well.

If you hit one of the gun shows with knives dealers, you can pick up one up for under $90. As for the titanium coated model, it's kind of like sticking lipstick on a pig since the blade is already SS and is not going to rust anyway (unless you just total neglect it).

I'm in the sandbox, so i won't be hitting up a gunshow anytime soon. However, price locally is comparable to what you posted.

So overall not bad, but not great. Hmm...

I know in Baghdad we had benchmades floating around. But i don't know if they have them here. I'll have to do some looking.
