Ok,
I am looking into an auto knife for work. Here is my criteria
It should be rust resistant because I work off boats.

It has to hold and edge because it will get used and although I like sharpening   knives I don't always have time.

I prefer straight versus serrated edges, but I can live with the serrated if need be. I am not sure I like the one side sharpened thing that I see on many Tanto style blades

I prefer a lanyard hole so I can attach it to my vest, so it doesn't end up in the lake.
Of course since opening has been addressed by the auto part of this then...it needs to close one handed

I am only willing to pay what I have to for the quaity I need!!!!!!!! That doesn't mean I am cheap. That means if a quality knife that suits these needs is 150 I don't want to spend 200.

Currently I am looking at Benchmade 9100s and 9050s

Tell me what other options may suit me please!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

The Benchmade 9050 is too thick, try the Benchmade 5000 series, the auto axis is great.

The Microtech Mini SOCOM Elite fits your criteria and is an excellent knife. The 3.5" 154CM blade is scary sharp and holds an edge extremely well. The MSE is built like a tank, but is much thinner than other autos on the market.

+1 on the Microtech.  I have owned both, MT is the best for the buck.

I though auto knives where the coolest thing that was until I had one for a few months then it really was not that cool fad gets old quick.

If you want an auto that will not draw unwanted eyes then go with this one you can even give it to a cop if they want to see it and they will think its just a folder but its an auto.
