Anybody have one of these, I was thinking about buying one for a deployment.  Curious as to whether anybody has to say about it.

Don't laugh...
I bought my first LMF
back in the late 1980's.
There are better blades for the money out there.
SOG, etc. would be a start, Randall or other high end
knives would be optimal.

yes i have the version that comes with the safety knife and it is excellent, the sheath is extremely versatile, it can go on a mollie vest, on the belt w/ or w/o thigh strap, or be attached to the calve vie a second strap, it also has a carbide sharpener in the sheath. the blade holds an edge well and has a good finish, recently a friend of mine and i plunged it through an old hot water heater about 10-12 times with no point or edge damage, but a little finsish was scratched. it is also very stout and the handle is insulated to 25,000 volts of electricity (dont have the balls to test it though) and the endo of the handle is designed to be used as  a hammer and is pointed at the tip for a glass breaking impliment ( i feel that it could also crush bone while dressing an animal or be a good striking weapon), it also has 3 lashing points so that it can be atached to a spear shaft if needed. and as for the safety knife it comes at no extra charge so you might as well have it.
