Got bored yesterday and wrapped my gripless Camillus in paracord.  I think I'll take it off and refinish it as it's getting a little rusty.  I'm also going to put a new point on it.

Here's where I am on a prototype field knife that I'm working on. I'll probleby build a batch of them.

4 3/4" blade with 9 3/4" overall length.

3/16", drop forged, high carbon(solingen), very slight hollow grind that is almost flat.

Aliminum bolster with laminate handle.

I'm liking it alot right now.

here is my Buck.  it may not be as sweet as some of your guy's blades, but i like it.  it is super thin and light so i dont even know that i'm carrying it half the time.  plus Buck makes their knives here in town and my little brother works there, so i gotta give them some props

Now THAT'S a knife!

Here's my S&W Medium SWAT Knife. I bought it and shortly after showed it to my buddy (LEO) who the informed me it was illegal to carry here in CA. I didn't want to return it because I liked it so much....plus, it's NOT illegal to own in my home.

I want to pick up a KA-BAR Black Fighting Knife soon. Good for upclose and personal encounters with the undead.

I'm not too familiar with Cali laws, or that model knife.  Is the blade too long or something?

The blade is four inches long (has to be 2" or less) and by applying pressure to the knob on the blade, I can "flip" the knife open with the flick of the wrist.....which is a no-no in Kalifornistan.

That knife is totally California legal. Whoever told you about the laws doesnt know wtf they are talking about. You can carry any folding knife as long as it isnt a true auto.

I'll have to look into this because it's not a "gravity knife" or anything either. I'll have to ask around again.

Well i can tell you for sure its legal, its nothing more that a simple liner lock folding knife.

Remember most cops would rather that no one carries anything sharper than a penny so its no wonder.

Benchmade VEX
Buck Strider 889 SBMF

-both of these see equal pocket time. but its been my experience that the buck strider is alot tougher, the blade is far thicker than the Benchmade. Pouch is John Willis original SOE Gear.

It is a fighting knife and is called a rat-tail.

Both ends are auto and it is quite dangerous.  If you don't know how to open it, you probably will hurt yourself.

Although I will never fight with it (I hope I never will), if I ever did get in a knife fight this is the knife that I would want to have.

Here's my go.

Close up of the one I will probably never use.

The applegate sucks as well as the BKT but I use both Benchmade's and the Coldsteel.  The tomahawk just looks mean but it dosent like to stick in anything.

That looks great but how did you go through putting the para wrap on there?
Did you take off the grip before you put on the para wrap? or just put the wrap over the grip?

The small blade comes out of the back side of the knife, not the front.
