These are the first two in a special order of six.  Steel is O1, edge quenched.  The gold handle is natural canvas micarta.  The striped handle is red and black linen micarta.  Sheaths are by master leather craftsman, Martin "Sandy" Morrissey.

Fox, as usual very well done, nice very nice.  You gotta be the best kept secret among custom makers.

Why the difference in the design of the wings on the sheaths?  Are all the wingman sheaths going to have a different wing design?

I suspect that Sandy was experimenting with the size and design of the wing to accommodate the lettering.  We had some trouble finding the right size lettering at first.  Always remember that with hand made knives or sheaths there will be differences and no two will ever look exactly the same.  I like to give Sandy a very broad brush for sheath design.  He has a much better eye for contrast, color and design than I have.  My usual instructions are very vague, something like: "Make the knife look pretty."  All the sheaths will have wings and the lettering and all will look slightly different.  The customer has seen the knives and is ecstatic over the sheaths.
