| What do you guys think of Becker knives? I plan on getting a Strider for my main fixed blade knife, but a Becker could hold me over if they are nice enough. |
| How about a Busse? Cheaper than a strider though maybe not as high speed, low drag looking. And w/ their special INFI steel it's one tough SOB. I just bought a Satin Jack CG for a friend who is a Marine. I can already tell it's gonna be real tough letting go of it when it shows up on my door. |

Busse Is great idea, They are now making the last run of the E-handle knives, in a limited desert tan color coating. The Steel Heart knife will completely out perform just about every thing on the market. I have been beating that knife with a vengence for 3 months with and It just won't stop. Check them out.......You won't be sorry. www.Bussecombat.com or call the shop 1-419-923-6471 |

I recently did a lot of research in regards to survival/camp knives. I decided that a 9" Busse, Swamp Rat, Strider or the RAT by Ontario are good knives for me. There were others. Since money is tight right now, I bought a BK&T 7 to use as a camp knife and build a new survival kit around. At less than $50 you don't mind losing it. I honestly love the knife, and the sheath gives you a good starting point for attaching survival equipment. |

dont know about becker.. but busse makes good knives... that said... there is no excuse NOT to get a strider... seriously, they have to be the best designed knives out there for whatever it is that you do... a good seconhand market, large product line and the availability of custom pieces. not to mention the lifetime warranty from just about anything. check out their forum over on the usual suspects network where mick strider himself posts frequently... the strider guys are generous, kind, and funny to boot making the whole package well worth whatever their knives cost... in fact i have two of thier new SnG folders and they are worth every penny just for the titanium and s30v that goes into making them, much less the fact that they are astonishingly simple, beautiful and effective folders... can you tell i love striders?? one of the texas dealers came to last weeks gunshow and had a table full of 'em... a lot of them one offs and special pieces but they were an absolute thing of perfection and beauty... now to save up for their bas-ass axe! |

Yeah I was in awe when I held a BT at a gunshow, but held off buying cuz the finish was slightly marred so it looked used while the person was selling it for full retail. IMHO, the Busse lineup (the larger models like SH, BM, and NO) will stand up better as a knife for choping and real hard work if you do a lot of hunting/camping/field use, but the Striders will serve better in a combat like role and have that "dont f*ck w/ me" look. |
