Buddy and I spent some time looking at the Bohica uppers this passed weekend at a gunshow. I had never really thought about getting a 50bmg upper. Bohica is local, and I have seen them (going to shoot one pretty quick here from someone else), I searched around here for a few hours and now see the Zels single shot uppers as well. Any advanatges/disadvantages for one over the other? Looking for any perspectives and thoughts. thanks

| I've had one since Christmas and I love it. In fact I picked up a new Bohica stainless steel lower and put it on it, instead of using my Bushmaster lower. I've got a Magpul PRS stock and a Nightforce NXS 8-32X56 scope on it. I've got the 30" barrel which I think is about the perfect length. It uses powder better then the shorter ones. As for recoil it does not hurt. My 300 Winchester and 12 ga shotguns hurt but not the Bohica. It moves you but a slow enough recoil that it is painless. You cannot go wrong with it. Chris is a stand up guy that will take care of you well. Good luck on your choice. |

I noticed it on GB awhile back Yep. Sold it to a very nice guy in Oregon. I'm sure he'll start popping up at matches in the very near future. I was tired of FCSA politics. And i'm happy shooting the small stuff these days. Plus freed up some cash to do some other things. Still plan on attending the FCSA regional matches in Raton for a while...match director lets me shoot my 338 Lapua and 308 WIN at 1000 with a target puller...just not sanctioned by FCSA....which is fine with me...I'm shooting for myself anyway, not to be published in a magazine. -David Edgewood, NM |
