This place has some of the best prices I've found.  I'm using WC860 now for $74 for an 8 lb keg.  With API bullets at .29 cents each it's much cheaper to reload then purchase them loaded.  http://www.iidbs.com/hitech.zkb

any advice for a 50 newb,

One of my shooting buddies with a Bohica just purchased rounds in 2 different shippments for $2.06 a round.  They came 150 rounds in a GI ammo can and are API bullets.  So far they have worked just fine.  He purchased them through this guy on gunbroker.
It's the best price I've seen for loaded ammo and a GI ammo can.
