Folks,

The garrison Commander at Frot McCoy has informed me today that he has the given the go ahead to attempt to work out the details for the North Coast Shooters Association, Ltd. and his staff to hold the first civilian event on Fort McCoy.

This has taken me 15 months of hard work to get us here to this point. I will be working hand in hand with the command staff to make this a reality. For those of you looking for a place to shoot and compete we will continue to break new ground as nuch as possible. This is not a done deal yet but I see no reason we cannot meet the requirements.

So folks I will have this updated on the northcoastshooters.com website as soon as we have dates locked in.

I will be watching this one as I am only 3 hours from away, and spent a lot of time there with a crappy unit NG(32nd Bde)  I would like to try and stretch out the legs of my new Bohica.

I'll be watching as well, always good to have more places to shoot.

How did you go about getting the command to agree to this?

I'm stationed at Fort Riley, and I've been thinking about trying to approach the command about this exact same thing.

POW,

First you have to understand that I was the battalion srounger in my younger years. Which means I knew EVERYBODY in the system to get what I needed.  Research, big brass kauhoonies helps as well. <grin>

All kidding aside, I am pretty well trusted by the military folks beacuse I can keep my piehole shut and I can unlock and open doors where others cannot. As we progress, the easy way would be to have me make the arrangements. It would not get folks nearly upset and riled or feathers  ruffled.

Alot would depend if you wish it to be an open shoot or a restricted to military folks. Most anything can be accomplished with the right folks oiling the hinges and greasing the skids to make a smooth operation.

places that are willing to work with me and are as we speak,   Camp Perry, OH  Fort Drum, NY  Fort Indiantowngap, PA  Fort Knox, KY  Camp Gruber, OK  Fort MCoy WI  Camp Atterberry, IN We have several others ready to procede with but we need to cover these first. Basically as I said, I was a scrounger. <smile>

I keep my pie hole shut!!! LOL

Plus, the more people the better as it helps to keep these matches going.
