| just picked up yesterday. gun looks awesome. need some help deciding on a scope. i have been thinking pretty hard about a nightforce 5.5-22x50 nxs. i am only able to shoot about 700yds unless i take it somewhere else. should i opt for more magnification and less turret adjustment? |

Congratulations on your new baby. The 5.5-22 or 8-32 NXS will both work great. And you can easily get out to 1000 yards with an 8-32 with a 20 MOA scope base. Don't know what the BA-50 has so far as rail. Welcome to the club! -David Edgewood, NM |
| i am not sure about the rail either, all i could find is MIL-STD 1913 rail. being new to the 50cal world, what about scope rings? since i was looking at a nightforce scope, i was going to go with their rings. they have the lightweight and normal rings, then there is the uni-mount. any suggestions on rings? |
| The BA-50 rail is flat, so you'll have to use adjustable rings or an angled scope base to reach out a ways. The NXS 5.5-22 is unbeatable. I used the Nightforce unimount which has 20 moa built in. Very clean looking set-up! I also added a Barrett M-107 carry handle to make it a bit more mobile. For Nightforce products check with Schryver gun sales––Lin is great to deal with! |

I think I'm one of the few that favors a lower power optic.
Most of my shooting is under 250 yards. I might find an occasion to stretch it out to 500, but never further. I went with a Leupold MkIV LR/T 3.5-10x40. I have the BA50 as well (from COBB). You're gonna love it! |

I've got the BA50 w/ NF NXS 5.5-22 NP-R1 w/ NF Unimount system (w/ 20 MOA incline). Works great.
I've heard that the 22 has 100 MOA of up and down adjustment at 1000 yds while the 32 only has 60. This is supposed to be a factor when shooting at long ranges like 1000. I've only shot at 200 yds so far, so I haven't tested the theory. Hope you enjoy your BA50. I love mine so far. Only shot 25 rounds due to breaking in barrel cleaning between shots. (I know... this probably doesn't do anything, but on a $4500 gun, I'm gonna make every effort to get maxium accuracy out of it). |
