Should I use a 50 cal Bore Snake "will the brass brush damage my barrel?" or just stick to the Otis cleaning kit?

I always use a 52" Dewey rod and a brass brush.

No,  a brass brush will not harm the bore. Think what's happening down the bore when you fire it.

I use a Tipton carbon fiber rod and WIPE OUT foaming bore cleaner.  Best method I have found.  Go to BiggerHammer.com and see all the praise for this method and this product.  I've got an 82A1 and have tried everything-this stuff is by far the best. I used to use Dewey rods for ALL my rifles, but have switched to ALL Tipton Carbon now-by far the best, sturdiest, and no chance of harming the bore

A carbon fiber cleaning rod....I may need one

I use a AAA rod and that thing is heavy.
