Has anyone tried a Mueller Scope with a glass-etched reticule on a .50 BMG?

Their customer service tells me that it should stand up to the recoil.

Sounds like they want you to be a .50 BMG beta tester for them.  Better make sure they will stand behind it before you put it on there.

I second Orkan's comment.

Mueller has a cult like following in some of the rimfire circles. They seem to have a good reputation for customer service.

IMHO, Its hard to say how a scope will do until a bunch of people try it. "Design" doesn't carry any weight with me until its proven on a variety of BMG platforms.

I have a SS 10X on my rifle for now. Its not the best optics, but they are built tough.

If they are telling you it will work, they will stand behind their product, and you like their product...then give it a try and let the rest of us know how it does!

Tell them to send you one, and you'll test it on your BMG.

Tell them you'll buy it if it works for 500rnds. :)

Has anyone had any experiences with Falcon Optics.  They Look nice and they were tested for a 338 lapua, they also said it will with stand an 50BMG.

338 Lapua puts out just under 5000 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle (250 grain bullet @ 3000 fps).  A 50 BMG puts out between 10,000 at 15,000 foot pounds at the muzzle depending upon the load.  A 50 burns 2.3 times as much powder as a Lapua and has a bullet that weighs 2.5-3 times as much.

I really doubt the scopes performance on a 338 Lapua indicates much about 50 BMG.  But you should see if they'll send you a tester.  Very High Power is always in need of a new products review.  I'm sure you could do it.  Just join FCSA at www.fcsa.org.  Be nice if there was a new cheaper scope option out there.

I just doubt it because at that price point, the only other 50-proven scope is a supersniper which is fixed power and can be made rather robust at a modest cost compared to variables.
