Will a VariX III hold up fine on an armalite AR-50 ?

Thanks

Don't see why not...  I had one on my old Serbu, and that's got alot more recoil to deal with than the AR-50.
The only caveat is the eye relief.  Not much of it at the higher magnifications.
That's why I switched over to a Nighforce.

I agree with MrBen.  The eye relief of the VX-III is the limiting factor for that scope.  My NF NXS is the way to go for a 50 scope if you don't mind the extra weight.  If you want to go light, a fixed power Leupold M4 is a good way to go.

Way I see it, so long as it doesn't whop you in the head, there are no worries on the VX-III because Leupold will fix it when and if you shell it out.

I asked Leupold if it would be okay on my M82A1 and they said it would be fine.

Besides, they have a great warranty.
