| Has anyone had the trigger on their M99 adjusted? The pull on mine is quite heavy and is making long range work aggravating at best. Thanks for any info... |
| I did just that. I got a ruby stone from gesswein.com, and the moly paste from brownells. Remove the mating surfaces. To remove the linkage rod, you'll have to remove the pistol grip and remove the safety lever. Polish the mating surfaces with the ruby stone until they're mirror smooth. Be sure to keep the stone perfectly flat against the metal. Smear on some moly paste, reassemble, and your good to go. It's really not hard at all. You don't need to be a gunsmith to accomplish this. My trigger is now much lighter and smooth as butter. A couple people have shot my M99 and commented that the trigger was very nice. |

AJ, what is the approximate serial # on your rifle? Some rifles left Barrett with some pretty stout pulls early on. There is an upgrade to the sear/sear link combo. There is a different firing spring also. The heavy pull came from the firing spring causing a real binding on the sear. The update was a few years ago. You may have a rifle that missed the upgrade. |
My serial # is 0038X... an early one. Perhaps I should just get in touch with Barrett and see what they can do for me. |
