very nice!

I'll assume thats at 1,000 yards since you didn't specifically say (and of course what else could it be).

Was that target fired at 100 yards?  Is that an SR-1 target (200 yard target reduced for 100 yards)?

If so, the group near the center is 1 MOA wide but 3.5 MOA tall.  Wind is not a factor at 100 yards.  Were you flinching to cause the vertical dispersion, or were you dialing in it, or what?

1 MOA wide is pretty good for ball ammo.  Is that what you were using or was it reloads?

The group is about 1 MOA left of center.  At 1000 yards, that is almost a foot left of center.  I'd suggest you center the group a little better.

Wow, I'm really glad I shared.  Thanks for picking apart my post.  This post was intended to share a rare gun and some fun at the range with the first ten rounds.  I'm glad you pointed out I should center the group a little better.  You know us semi-auto owners aren't very smart.  That is why we have to have the gun load after every round for us.

hey man,
Post the pics, I'd like to see the rifle at least.
If you had fun with it, who cares. That's what's important.
You can worry about dialing the thing in later.

+1
Anyone posting from Kalifornia has little credibility regarding guns, much less a .50 BMG, in my book.  Gun enthusiasts live in places like AZ!  Post them CQ photos!

HA HA HA HA HA, no cred huh? Guess I won't offer my advice here anymore.

WOW !   I agree.  My post was not an attack but I apologize if I hurt your feelings.

Really, super-cool rifle.  MOST excellent!  Tell us more about it.  How is it to shoot?  How's the trigger?  Do you reload for it?

So, when do we get to see the pics, again?

BTW, do you know what was causing the vertical stringing?

If you want one, I have two more on order.  So far, these are limited production guns.  There are only 10 so far.  My rep has told me they are planning one more run of 10 CQ's.  I have two coming from that run.

Any clue on the velocity loss with the 20 incher?

Did you chrono?

Well, if there are only 20 made you can bet the street price is not the mere $7750 I've seen it advertised for.

And thank you, Smurf, for posting the photo again.

Barrett says there is no loss in performance with the shorter barrel.

I heard Barrett was offering the Close Quarters version, but you never really know if they are available and how they really work until you get a report from someone kind enough to report about it.   So thanks for the field report TS.

I have two shooting rules:

1) Be Safe (real important with 50BMG!)

2) Have fun   (real easy with 50BMG!)

With the barrel only being 18" would you still be able to engage targets somewhat accurately out to say the ranges of 500-700 yards or has too much barrel been removed?

How much has the felt recoil gone up TS?  Say from 12ga to 10ga maybe?

feels the same.  The V-brake definately lets people standing 45 degrees to either side know there is 9 inches less barrel.

Well it sure is a pretty rifle.  Are you going to get a suppressor for it, and if so what type?
