Seems the price is pretty close, which value would increase the most if the 50 is outlawed

I'm only looking at it from the angle of which I'd rather have if I had the cheese to plunk down on one. Since we're talking non-NFA here I would get the Barrett. I guess there might be some collectors that would pay a lot of money for a semi Ma but it seems like it would be easier to sell the Barrett. Of course, I could be completely wrong. My wife says that happens a lot.

if you want to have as much money into cool accessories as you've got in the gun, if you want to be able to shoot all day long without tireing anything but your thumbs, if you want something even a 5yr old could shoot without fear, get an M2HB. (and a reloading rig!)

Who built your M2?  Given the pending election of Hitlery, buying ANYTHING is far better than nothing. I'm leaning towards an M3HB myself.  With all the screwups the republicans are committing in congress it will be a miracle if we maintain either house to protect use from the democrat/socialists after Bush goes home.

Who built your M2?

Mine was built up from an M2HB parts kit Cole's used to sell, and added the semi-auto RHSP, sear, trigger and millwork from KMP.
The M3HB conversions (like the middle pic above) are the most prevalant now that most of the M2 kit sources have dried up.
CWA's got a good deal on assembled/park'ed M3HBs built from the latest batch of Gryphos kits to come in.

they sell for $6,595.00 plus shipping to your FFL.... and you'll still have to find or build a mount for it too.

I know...I'm having a hard time deciding myself on which to get; either CWA's build or M82A1

How can you tell the difference between the M2 and M3?

the look identical to me.

The differences between a 'real' M3 and M2HB are more obvious.  Most of the functional differences are internal and related to the higher firing rate of the full-auto M3.

gryphos.com/m3alternative.htm

The picture above shows what's come to be called an M3HB as it's a demilled M3 rebuilt with both M3 and M2HB parts to function primarily as a ground mount semi-auto.

Some conversions retain the m3 aircraft barrel with it's full length shroud.
