Just caught part of another hit piece on the .50cal.  Looks like another slick production to say "the sky is falling we must ban this gun NOW!!!!" They did interview Ronnie Barrett, but in the end the viewer is still left with the impression that these evil weapons are out there and they may come to a neighbourhood near you. Included was a interview with some woman whos husband was killed or shot at with a .50. She of course expressed horror that these weapons were available to the public. I guess this was the part that was supposed to appeal to the soccer moms/suburban houswives.

The cop was hit with shrapnel from a round from the 50, a diffrent rifle  or weapon was used to do the killing.
I taped the show and played it back 2 times to check this.
But your 100% right on your post RAINBOW6.

What none of these idiots seem to understand is by creating a ban, if anything it will "bring these guns to your neighborhood" sooner than anything because of the massive buying spree it will provoke.

Look at California, how many of the damn guns do you think came with express shipping to beat the Ca. deadline?

Perhaps the VPC is the best thing to happen to unite the gun owners of the US.     The sooner that the hunting crowd realizes that their favorite scoped rifle is soon to be labeled a "sniper rifle" the sooner they will drop in line with us who own evil black rifles or satelite killing crack the mantle of the earth 50BMG rifles.

It was the near back to back 60 Minutes hit pieces that prompted me to finally get my ALS upper assembly.     I'm left wishing that last year I bought a Bluegrass Amory Viper 50 receiver or maybe even one of the Barrett M95 receivers that were shipping out just before the Ca. ban.
