Well, I got to shoot a buds UL 50 with the 18" barrel today, and WOW!!! WAY COOL!! However, we were doing the rifle a MAJOR insult by mounting a cheapo BSA red dot sight. Only ran about a dozen rounds thru her, and while the site held up, probably not for long. Has anyone ever mounted an ACOG on a 50? I have a couple of questions. #1 is, can it take the punishment? I would assume so, as it is a milspec sight, but it probably isn't "spec" for 50cal recoil. #2, since his is an 18" barrel, and he isn't planning on shooting much over 300 yds, would something like the TA-31f be close as far as the reticle goes? I'm thinking that the XM193 and the 50 ball ammo are pretty close in velocity, but I don't know if that figures out to a similar trajectory inside of 300 yds or not. Any input appreciated. Doc |
