Dropped it off with my trigger pack and the kit. Let the gunsmith do it. Hopefully everything will work fine when I get it back tomorrow. |

Nevermind, I figured it out. You fit the front of the spring in first, then partially remove the rear bottom pin that holds in the piece that locks the trigger group into the stock, push the body of the spring all the way to one side and the tail of the spring will just barely slide over into its retaining notch. |

I went and shot mine for the first time about an hour ago. No issues, worked like a champ. Unless FRTs are banned where you live, there's no reason not to get one IMO. Or better, just sell complete trigger packs with the FRT already installed. |

The chassis is rubbing on the selector and needs to have some material removed. I had the stiff selector with mine. A little xacto knife action and it works correctly now. You should be able to see rub marks on the selector so see where it's rubbing. |

I releived the area that was rubbing on the selector and it's better now. But my test fire today was... just semiautomatic. No FRT. The only thing I can think of is that I had not installed the trigger paack block (between the Strike butt pad and the trigger pack because it didn't seem necessary when I first assembled my PS90 into the Strike stock. |

I do have the strike stock. It needs the block to keep the pack in place. Even with the block you sill may not have frt. Mine just locks up the bolt when in the frt position and I hold the trigger back. Hopefully yours works with the spacer installed. I never tired the frt in the fn stock although I don't think the bolt locking up is a stock issue. I think it's some inconsistent specs on the parts at least in my case. |

So we were right. The selector wasn't fully moving to the progressive position. After relieving the Strike stock in that area it works! Only issue was a magazine going tits up and an empty case bouncing off my arm and back up in front of the bolt.

I wish I was a premium member on here so I could show you the pictures of the damage to my breach block. I had to ship it in to them. I'm still waiting for them to get back to me. I fired approximately 2000 rounds and there's damage to my breach block from the XPRT 90. They also wanted me to pay for shipping to return the item back and pay for insurance so I'm waiting to see what they're gonna do about that. I mean it was bad enough. I had to wait multiple months for the product and now it's damaged my breach block I had to go out and buy another breach block luckily I was able to find one so I could keep my PS90 SBR up and running. There's other members on FN form that saw the damage that I got in problems. Other people were having and they actually didn't even install their XPRT 90 they put up ad selling it. One of the senior members of the other form me and him were talking, and he doesn't even wanna put it in his gun. He's afraid of damaging it. Personally, that's what I should've done. I should've just sold mine. I'm going through this nightmare right now. I had to go buy a brand new breach block pay extra money for shipping and insurance to send it to them. I would be surprised if they somehow replace my breach block with spare parts or whatever but at this point, I don't know what's going on or anything. They said they'll contact me tomorrow. They had my product since last week. |

Yeah, I posted pictures on fn forum Basically you got a steel hammer slapping up against a aluminum breach block. I think it's aluminum, but there's damage from the hammer striking the breach block flattening on the round surface and then there's another section of the bridge block that has the same damage in the middle and the blueing on the bottom of the block has been scraped off I have constant FTE's with this device and I never had those problems prior I ended up just buying another breech block. I think I'm gonna remove the XPRT 90 and I'm just gonna sell it. To me, it's cool but it's a novelty gimmick device and it makes my ps90 unreliable with all the jamming |
|
Yeah, with it being a hard anodized steel and an aluminum breach block something has just has to give maybe it's because I fired more rounds than most people since they got it. I fired about 2000 rounds, but like I said, I noticed significant damage to the point that they wanted me to mail it in so they can look at it, but I don't really think they're gonna do anything about it tomorrow. I think I'm just gonna end up selling the XPRT 90 and I bought another breach block |

Out of curiosity, what are some specifics about the round count that caused this damage? What ammo were you using? Is your PS90 SBRed or were you using a can? How long between each mag? I really only skimmed the thread over at FF Forum and I just see you say you went from 500 rounds through the gun when the FRT was installed to 2000. That's 30 mags worth... did that all occur in like one or two range sessions or ? I'm just trying to get a frame of reference for the wear and other circumstances that might affect things the timing, heat in the action, backpressure, etc. I know on their sales page they specifically say dry fire is "not recommended" and to allow time between mags for cooling. Not sure what dry firing will harm with a steel hammer that wouldn't also harm a plastic hammer. As far as I can tell the big question might be heat? Also the PS90's breech block is steel. I don't see anyone list what kind or hardness, just "steel". I took my PS90 out and a magnet sticks to the breech block. |
|
2000 rounds ss197 and Fiocchi 40 grain ball. No can sbr yes Multiple range sessions I would fly anywhere from 300 to 500 rounds per session. FTEs happened probably 75% of the time The magazines are OEM fn magazines with upgraded rollers from dorin. Sbr done by dorin All oem parts minus the xprt90 If the breach block is steel, that's good to know like I said I wish I could show you the pictures you would have to just go on fn forum to see them Go to fn forums ps90 section last page or dorin frt |
|
I'm not sure they're gonna be testing it tomorrow or the next day and taking a look at it. Dorin says he doesn't know what caused that. He thought there might've been some debris in there and I said no I thoroughly clean my weapon all the time. It's possible that one of the FTE's the casing got caught underneath the breach block and got slammed, but I don't see how brass can dent steel 🤷🏻♂️ |

Finally got to the shooting range with my PS90 SBR X-PRT 90. I was probably part of the first group of triggers shipped so I’ve had it a while but today was the first time shooting. First, my advice is load as many mags at home since loading brand new 50 round magazines while standing at the range sucks! I only took 2 mags and 250 rounds of Federal red box 5.7 ammo. The mags were stiff, hard to load which increased my range time with this gun to about 35 minutes ($135 worth of ammo). Actual shooting time was only about 2 1/2 minutes, probably less. Only had 2 stoppages. Neither can be attributed to the X-PRT 90. First one was a round failed to spin in the mag and didn’t feed, magazine issue! Second was I found a dented case while loading magazines fresh from the box and expected it would probably not feed correctly loaded it anyhow and it stuck 1/2 way in the barrel. Actual shooting it in FRT mode does take some getting used to. Initially, I was doing 5-8 round bursts without issue. I did do 4-30 round mag dumps and it ran like a champ. No doubt 50 round dumps would have been awesome too but the mags were really stiff to load since they were new out of the box. My only regret for the first time out was not bringing my suppressor for this gun and some subs to try out also. I wanted to use full power ammo for the break in to be sure it ran OK and the range I went to limits weekend shooting to 1 hour. I realize the FRT ain’t cheap nor is the ammo inexpensive either but the fun factor of shooting this is really immeasurable! |

| Got everything installed and dry fire seems to work. I do have the EA tungsten weight on my breech block, so that’ll probably be the first thing I try if I’m having issues. Plan to use Fiocchi 40gr FMJ at first and then my hotter 40gr VMAX handloads if the factory ammo runs well for a couple mags. |
