Update: Works as advertised. Didn't experience any bolt hang ups under live fire. So I guess, don't be alarmed if yours doesn't dry fire like you think it should. On a side note, this is gonna be expensive. The range owner came out as I was leaving and said he was green with envy then I put the can on and he said he turned dark green. |
| I posted about this in the FRT forum. I too thought something was up as the bench test failed (or so I thought). Where it is a progressive trigger, it takes some getting use to how it works. Trigger is really heavy in the second press. After some practice, I can skip the single shot and go straight into force rest now. |

I got mine today and it does not work. Works fine in single shot, put it to the fun setting and it does not work. It will fire one round maybe two and then for whatever reason is I am pulling through the trigger the bolt gets hung up. And then when I release the trigger it drops. I can't figure it out I've spent three hours trying to diagnose this piece of junk. I called FN specialties at 3:55 only to get the we're in from 10:00 to 4:00 message so I had to leave a message hoping that they will get back to me tomorrow |

Hopefully tomorrow while they are on their Bankers hours they'll call me |

I can pull through the first shot when the selector is in the F mode it'll fire another round as I pull through to the frt mode and then that's all it'll do. And then sometimes the bolt gets hung up and only comes forward when I release the trigger. Out of 2 hours of trying to diagnose this and six magazines, only once did it do what it was supposed to do and it only did it for about 10 to 15 rounds and then the bolt got stuck to the rear. This is very frustrating |

After calling both numbers no one answers the phone there I have to leave a message there's no way to get ahold of anybody there. All I know is I've got a $400 trigger that doesn't work worth a damn. The bolt still gets hung up in the F position. And I don't know why |

I haven't tried firing mine yet and hopefully don't have any issues. Installation of the X-PRT 90 should be easy and seamless. A small number of customers have reported tight installation, installation difficulty, or function issues. If you are experiencing any of these, we are offering a complimentary inspection and adjustment if needed. Please do not modify any components. For full details and next steps, please visit our service page: https://fnspecialties.com/x-prt-90-inspection/ If you want to take advantage of this offer, reply to this email with your order number. We will promptly email you a return shipping label to send us your actuator component for inspection. We stand behind our product, and we appreciate your business. Yeah it seems like that they have quite a few people now that are reporting the same issues that I had with the installation of the actuator being very difficult and then it not running right after you get it installed. I got a prepaid label to send the actuator back for them to inspect and correct which makes me wonder if they got a bad batch of actuators that are out of spec and they're going to just swap them out with ones that are in spec |

It sucks having to disassemble it but I don't want to have to trouble shoot it. |

And then put the pin back in you can still use it, it just won't have the fun switch. I confirmed with them that it would be fine to use the supplied hammer and out of battery sear. |

Dorin himself was emailing me. He said first check and see if the forced reset actuator moves freely like a seesaw. If it does then there's other things to check. He said the other thing to check is to push down on the hammer when it is caught and see how hard it is to push the hammer down against the actuator. He said it should easily push well past the bottom of the main sear. If it doesn't then there's something wrong and you need to get a RMA to send it back. His words below We want to ensure that the Forced Reset Actuator is not binding. If you take out the hammer pack, the reset actuator should rock back and forth like a see-saw with full range of motion. It should be easy to move, but not floppy. If that is the case, please call and let’s diagnose together. However if it’s challenging to move, let’s correct that first. Please let me know what you find. We stand behind our product and want to ensure you have the best possible experience. 2nd email to me- The hammer should very easily depress well below the deck of the primary sear. If your actuator doesn't do any of those or fails one of those tests, then it needs to be returned for them to supposedly inspect it and correct it. I have a feeling that it's going to be more like replace it because I think they got a bad batch of them that are out of spec. There is quite a few people reporting the similar problems that I had with the bolt hanging up while using the frt. Here's what I think it is- I had some bar stock and I used a micrometer to measure the pin that goes back into the trigger pack and I found a piece of bar stock that was nearly identical in size. I tried to rotate the actuator around the bar stock and as I would spin it around it would get hung up to the point that you had to push a little harder to get it to rotate. I think the slot and the hole are out of round. It should have swung freely around the bar stock |

I’m in the June/July shipping group with a March order so I’m watching this thread carefully. While it’s great that FN Specialties is being responsive and supportive the guidance they’re giving sounds like QC issue that should have been done before they shipped them to begin with. I had no problem pre-ordering and waiting a while, with the expectation that it’s perfected prior to shipping and were not beta testing for them. I’ve been a customer of them for some time and always found them to be an excellent vendor, so it’s not surprising that their response to this issue is positive, but it’s arguable that it may be preventable to begin with… Looking forward to hearing positive reports and seeing this ironed out. |

I love how all the youtube/instagram shills always get working samples and the buyers get to play beta tester. I just tried mine and the actuator is binding. It does not move freely. |

I had the same thought about how all the YouTube and Instagram people got working 100% samples so they can make videos and then now there is a large number of us who actually paid for it who are having problems. Me being the pessimistic suspicious person that I am wonders if they actually had the stuff from Dorin or did they get an actual P90. My actuator is going out today in the mail. So I have no idea how long it's going to take for them to get me either the new one or the one that will work back to me |

I had the same issue and had to remove some metal off both ends. Now works fine. |

I don't know about P90s but I am guessing FNS probably assembled and tested the trigger packs before sending them out do the shills. No more pre buys for me. I'm tired of not only helping finance the project but then playing beta tester after waiting months. I was excited like everyone else when the videos came out of the PS90 frt and now I'm ready to throw it back in a box and demand my money back. |

I was excited like everyone else when the videos came out of the PS90 frt and now I'm ready to throw it back in a box and demand my money back. I hear you. I went through nearly 10 magazines testing the balky frt before they finally started sending out emails with rma's. I can tell you this in my opinion they owe me about 400 rounds of ammunition. I don't like being a beta tester either and I thought long and hard before I placed that order. Because I broke my own cardinal rule- I don't pre-order. And it came back to bite me on my ass. So I'm going to give them an opportunity to make it right and fix it so it does work the way that it is supposed to work, or they're going to be refunding me |

I could probably play with it and get it working but I am tired of that crap. If I don't get a RMA by friday I am asking for a refund. We don't even know how long it will take to fix this issue if everyone's parts are out of spec. |

I'm sure I could fix it but I am tired of products that I paid good money for and then have to rework because their QC sucks. If I have to fix it myself it had better be cheaper than what they charged. I went though this with the first 2 position RB frts when they came out. Bought 2 and 1 worked, one didn't. Then the ATF thing hit so no getting it replaced under warranty. The actuator binds on the pin so the hole is out of round or both the hole and the horseshoe side are not aligned. |

If there's one thing that they need to learn is communication when it comes to customer service because it's very spotty, it's hard to get a hold of a human you have to leave a voicemail and maybe they call you back or maybe they don't. I have a feeling they're very small operation so they don't have a whole lot of people dedicated or even a person really dedicated to customer service. It's a small part and heat treat probably warped quite a few of them. Of course grinding the crap out of it will remove the nitrating process so that isn't good. Mine wouldn't rotate on the shaft unless I pried it with a small pick. Installing it was harder than it should have been. Hopefully mine works when it finally makes it's way back. My luck with FRTs has been pretty piss poor. |

I'm hoping this will be the only time that it's an issue...time and round count will tell. |

I sent mine back.. still not 100% .. I can get off about 10-15 rounds, the either the bolt stays back, or the hammer follows the bolt, the have to recock/charge the weapon. Mags dumps ( not that I could afford them) are not feasible p… Also …It’s just so damn expensive to continue to “test”. |
