Does anybody have a 62 inch pound T handle torque wrench I can borrow for a few days? I am willing to rent it from you if you desire. I am installing a Branham Tactical 2 inch rail extension. The instructions call for the barrel to be removed. I will pay the return shipping, I just don't want to spend $85 at Brownells for a wrench I plan on using once or twice. PM me if you can help me. Thank you tremendously.

Can you rent a torque wrench from Autozone/Advance Auto Parts or buy one from Sears? Torque wrenches are great because you can use them on other gun parts, cars, bikes, etc...

I think you can, but an inch pound wrench might be hard to come by. I bought mine years ago, and I've used it quite a bit

I installed mine without taking the barrel off. Took four of those long q-tip swaps like doctors use to swab the inside of your mouth and stuck them through the vent ribs against the rail tabs to keep them in place. The only reason one takes the barrel off is to temporally secure the rail tabs with glue or something to get the screws in. Without securing them somehow they will fall out. Place the q-tip swabs through the vent holes and weave them past the barrel against the back of the tabs so they don't move when you unscrew the side rails and install the new ones.

Bought my tourque wrench from sears for $30. I've used it several times on my SCAR16.

Installed the extension rail and took it to the range today. I was skeptical about the accuracy and it would return to zero, turns out I think I actually improved the accuracy. (Not really) but it sure seemed so. Very pleased with it.

I will look into a Sears torque wrench.
