This is not a "For Sale" post. My wife and I are currently looking at houses for sale. However, I am a little worried about how much a 20% downpayment right now will lower our savings. So I am thinking about selling my SCAR 17. I love this rifle. Hell I just purchased a TA11E and Larue GD mount for it about 6 months ago. However, our price point has gone-up a bit and I do not have time to save as much as I want. So back on point, does anyone know the current going rate of the SCAR 17 with todays retarded prices? Any help is appreciated. ETA: Our lease is about to run out and we do not want to sign another lease with the current property management. We also have 3 kids and cannot easily move to another place in the short term. |

Quoted: You stand to make a good profit, but you may or may not be able to replace it later. Yep. That is the reason I am so reluctant to do it. I guess at the EOD I have to do what would be better for my family. However, I am not going to sell it unless I have no other choice. |

Quoted: I know of a couple 17s for sale around here and asking price is $3999 + tax. If you put it on the EE here and asked $3500-3800, it would probably sell. I don't know how many mags you have but I would sell 1 with the gun and sell the others seperately. I currently have 9 mags. Already thinking about selling a few. |

No better time to sell, unless they enact a mag ban then your mags wil go up even more in value. If they enact a draconian ban then they could go down in value. Those who had accumulated mags over the past few years or longer have way more than could be used in a lifetime.. or our children's lifetimes. I have started to unload some mags, some parts and conversion kits, already sold some AR mags, soon some MP5 mags, excess ammo, and brass... It all adds up, for me a couple of grand, so I can buy more of the stuff I wish I had, like the upcoming Tavor, more bullets and primers, and a few mags for guns I don't have a lot of mags for, just because...and I picked up a 6920 last week, $1700... |

Sale of existing/grandfathered high caps will also be banned. Ownership is fine, but selling won't be allowed. |

Their not going to be coming into our homes doing a full magazine head count, at least not this time. I personally don't think they'll get almost anything passed but if they do it'll be just like the old saying "if they out law guns only outlaws will have them" with ALOT of America becoming outlaws. The only thing I think they'll get through is a foreign made weapons/parts bans making our SCARs and all accessories for them near impossible to get or incredibly expensive just like current NFA firearms. Ammo taxes are the other item I think they'll really put into place. |

I sold my 17S two weeks after sandy hook for $4000. AAC flash hider. It was nice, but after my trades and selling some of the stuff that came with it that I didn't need (TD charging handle, TD grip, etc), I only had 2K into it. If i would have sold it 3 days earlier, I would have gotten 5K.
I kept my mags though, just in case they come down in prie again--or if they go up in price. I'm not bothered at all, my Ar10 fills the gap. And i have more money and got to enjoy it for a time. |

Another guy had posted his order a day before me on gunbroker I posted it from his website but I think because I was patient and not posting hate on his facebook and just checking status by email being kind because I knew things were busy he gave it to me instead. |

Or it could go radically up in value if you need it. I'd be reluctant to sell, unless it was both necessary and if I had another rifle that could do the job. If you have 6 more ARs, maybe not such a big deal. If you only own the SCAR and one other black rifle, I'd hang onto it. |

Ownership is gone with the passing of the current owners- quite a difference. It's a very clever way to get rid of all ownership without the actual confiscation of items. It's not likely to pass, but understanding what they are talking about is important. |

No such luck, and a private trust won't get around it either. Transfers are defined to cover everything just about, and the very short list of exemptions are all basically for police, gov and mil. http://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/assault-weapons |

So many normal capacity mags are on the market and they are not serialized or anything. You couldn't go list them on GB but I am sure people would figure out a way.... |
