SCAR 16 auto sear

Awesome video! Doesn't look like much recoil, nice slow rate of fire. Love it!

This (orherthan the MP5) is the softest shooting machine gun I have. It recoils very little and strait back where as my M16 recoils up and back. I timed it for this low ROF, I wanted it low. It feels about the same as my AK with rate reducer, I can speed it up a bit by relocating the carrier trip but I like slower....

The rate of fire is real cool.  Sounds like a M2, thump thump thump.  Nice work man!

SCAR 16 auto sear

Very cool! So what was required to convert it? (for educational purposes only)

Safety selector was modified, hammer was modified, carrier was modified and an auto sear was made from scratch. Would have made my life a hell of a lot easier if I could have found a demilled MK16 but no.......

I've had a sit down comparison of my 17s with the 17 SF and was shown the differences. Seems FN went to great efforts to make the S guns different than the SF versions. In reality it just takes a couple of machined parts to make it happen. Cool video. Here's my vid.

I've never had my hands on a MK16/MK17 other than at the FN booth at SHOT. I based my sear off the pictures I have seen on line. You do enough conversions and understand how machine guns work, it takes about 30 second to figure out the SCAR. I will say I was surprised at how easy FN made this conversion, that's all I'll say....

Anyone have a shot timer that might work with this video? The MK16 ROF is 625 RPM, pretty slow like mine. I was hoping to time my SCAR....

Been looking to convert my SBR ACR. Just haven't had the time and access to machinery at the moment (also an 07/02). I was lucky enough to get my 11" 5.45working with no mods to the gas system, but semi is just really boring.

the ACRs FCG is basically same as the M4 isn't it? Maybe the M16 FCG could be modified to work.....

They use the same FCG, but the BCG is more like the SCAR and nothing to tip the sear. BM also cut the back of the trigger box where the sear holes would go.

At shot the BM guy said i can call up and just get the parts i need. The Rem guy was kinda hesitant but gave me his card. Good luck getting any response from them. I can't even get BM to call me back for dealer orders for ANYTHING. Makes me loose faith in the platform thats touted as being "so modular" but the co doesn't release parts and there are only 2 stocks and handguards for them.
