I have a 6920 and I have been eyeing the SCAR for a while. How is it, they are around 3400 in my area and less online. is the 223 as accurate or more than a ar? I am having a hard time deciding between the 223 and the 308? can some one give some pros and cons?

They're just as accurate as an AR in my experience.

If you are referring to the SCAR 16S, $3400 is thievery. They are $2400 all over the internet.

+1

For the 16s, 2400 is the find it anywhere price, if you hunt, I've heard of ~2000 or less online or when "getting lucky" at a gunshop.

For the 17s, most everywhere has it for 2800 or so.  2500 would be an excellent price.

I have one of each, and they're awesome guns.

Pros/Cons:
Weight is basically identical on both, balance is excellent on both
Muzzle brakes on both will piss off people on adjacent shooting lanes if you don't have hard walls, but they work extremely well.
17s magazines are still hard to find and/or expensive (supposedly fixed within the next 2-3 weeks).  17s mag is related to the metric FAL mag, but is not the same.
16s can use EMags/PMags, but they require modification (new M3 pmags fix the issue, supposedly).  99% of normal GI mags work fine in the 16s.
Trivially easy to disassemble and clean compared to a DI AR.
16s will be about half as expensive to shoot
16s has essentially 0 recoil, gun barely moves.  17s is light for a .308, but noticably more push than the 5.56.

I find that when I shoot the 16s, I will put about 300 rounds downrange in 2 hours.  In the same amount of time, I find myself putting maybe 120 rounds of .308 downrange, often much less.  I don't think it's the money, but something in my subconscious likes pulling the trigger quickly on the 16s more than the 17s.

Blemished? You mean with non-matching FDE?

That's normal. I like my 5 different colored FDE SCAR!

I like my 16, its different.  I like my AR's and am not ready to ditch them anytime soon.  I feel that my SCAR is like an 556 AK with modern ergo's.

The blemished SCARs came in the FDE variety.  They resulted from improper prep of the screws during anodizing and subsequently caused "dripping" of the FDE around the screws.  Some were less noticeable than others however this small batch of "blemished" FDE rifles was released at a slight discount by FNH.  I would be surprised if there are many "new" blemished FDE rifles around today as those sold pretty fast and I am only aware of FN releasing a single batch.

You will love the SCAR 16S - shoots accurate and felt recoil is softer than my Colt LE6920.
The SCAR 17S  felt recoil is not much harder than the LE6920.

look around the price can be much lower.
