Took my wifes PS90 SBR and did a little work. Wanted to get the height of the sight down a bit, lighten it up a hair, and get a better Duracoat pattern on it. If you want to see the play by play on how I did it you can check it out here.
This is what I started with: and the final product: Everything was done with a Dremel and hand files. Total time minus re-coating was maybe 8 hours. Re-coating took about 10; damn I hate doing digital. Wife was in the Air Force so I wanted to use their new uniform colors and show representation with a subdued logo on both sides of the back. She was hesitant at the thoiught of me jacking her toy up, but after having seen it finished, she loves it. |

Nice work. It's definitely something different. In your search for a rail, why not use one of the side rails? The side rail I had (on the before pic) was too tall and the base too narrow. It was the first thing I thought of trying , but the look was just not right. |

Very nice! You should do one in USMC color too. :)
But the sight rail housing looks too flimsy. DId you just cut down the original? It was a alloy cast, and from the looks of it, there's not much thickness remaining. I'd be weary of the sight bumping into anything. |

Interesting. Makes me think of the thompson machine px90 recievers that were made in the past(no idea if they still make them).

Looks good, ruined the value of it though. It's an SBR. The trouble of selling it already "ruined the value" of it. What he did was increase his own (or his wife's) personal value of it, so it seems ok to me. Well stated and very true. As for the sturdiness of the mount, it's very good. I wouldn't send the wife off to battle with it, but for everything else, it's more than good enough. |

Not true, there is a market for SBR'd PS90s....i Also he could have removed it off the registery and traded for a 16" barrel very easily. |

Well if anyone else wanted to give this a try but didn't want to take the chance of jacking up your PS90....
I have a complete barreled upper receiver I am selling. It does not have a sight, but since it would get cut off anyway who cares. You could then have 2 uppers to switch back and forth. about 900 rounds through it. I will have it listed in the E.E. tomorrow and post a link here. Maahes, I will reply to your email tomorrow also. thanks. |

Yea I had noticed that. Not as funny as the old HK ad though. I think the funny part is that it is a tacpoint....mostly because I just put a Primary Arms dot on mine. It is just there to try and justify the cost of a H1 or T1.
I like what the OP has done with his and with the limited tooling available to him. And the refinishing looks great. While I am good with improv engineering I suck at finish work. |
