I already own a YHM Phantom in .223.

Is the barrel on the FS2000 threaded, or is the FS/muzzle device permanent?

If it is threaded, is it standard M16 threads?

Would I run into legal issues if I put the YHM FS/sup mount on the end (i.e. parts count, etc.)?

I'm just thinking a bullpup seems a pretty good platform to run a suppressor off of, given the length, etc.

This is a problem that I think many are not aware of.  From what I understand from one ATF opinion letter, replacing the FS2000 muzzle attachment is not okay unless the rifle is an SBR.  I know a lot of guys have swapped them out for AR hiders but this issue has not been brought to light yet.  Because the FS is imported under the sporting clause you might want to ask the ATF for an opinion and then keep their answer in written form.

The barrel is threadad 9/16-24 left hand, and pinned. There are slots for two pins, but only one is used.

The pin is located 39mm from the rear of the combo muzzle device.

Doesn't parts count only apply if the weapon is not importable though?  Is it because the supressor would make an unimportable weapon and thus you'd then need to change enough other parts to US made in order to comply?

Well since the FS is completely made in Belgium there are no US parts on the rifle.  From what I understand the FS was able to make it through after the flash hider was changed to a pinned compensator.  Somebody needs to just ask the ATF, but I don't want to be "that guy".

I contacted ATF directly about this.  I have it in writing that there is no problem with removing the FN muzzle brake and installing an American made flash hider.
