If you, as I do feal the need to experament with new designs for all your toys I finally got the info from FN on ordering replacement forends or "handguards" as they are officially called I have plans to build a couple different forends that would each serve a different purpose but in order to do this I need forends with witch to build off of. so after much calling around and Emailing the factory repair centre I found it. turns out they are expecting a large shipment within the next three to six weeks of replacement parts including the handguards you will be able to order them as well as any other replacement parts you need from the browning service centre Phone # 1-800-635-1321 Handguard part # BFS000056 MSRP $10 cheep enough to buy several and do all the design experaments I want. The forend comes appart when the two bolts are removed there is a thin plastic rib that goes through the middle of the forend to provide lateral "Squeeze" Support this has a half circle indentation in each of the two halvs of the grip this can be used as a ruff guidline to cut out to allow the body of the light to be installed into the grip and be secured in place you wil need a dremmel tool to remove the plastic insert go slowely to avoid cutting out to much. once the hole is the correct size you will also need to cut a hole in the front of the forend to allow the bezel to stick out. it is very important that the front hole be snug to avoid the light slipping out once the holes are made and the light is installed you can cut a small hole anyplace on the forend to run the remote pressure pad or use the one that is already in place along the bottom seam tward the trigger. after the light and pressure pad are in place rethread the bolts and fasten the two forend halvs around the light tighten everything down and vwalla you have a lighted foregrip. |
