Just wondering if anyone else noticed this about their PS90.

I was watching a friend fire my PS90 (indoor range)and I did not see any muzzle flash (good) but with each shot a puff of blackish gray smoke come from the muzzle. I was shooting ss197. Is this because of the ss197 ammunition or just how the PS90 works.

Thanks

I shoot SS195 and did not see(when someone else shooting it, of cause) any flash or noticeable smoke either. The barrel is long, the ammo is small with a very clean burn powder, I think all these contribute to the fact as well. You don't see any residue caked up in the gun, even after hundreds of rounds. My FS2000 is the same way. I think next time if the range I go to isn't busy, I'm gonna shut down most of the lights and see, should be fun!!!

What needs to look for, though, not the big flash at the muzzle, but the sparks on the back stop!

Here is a couple of .avi's I made this week of my SBR'ed PS90 shooting SS195 at an indoor range

In this one you can see the flashes as the SS195 hits the steel backstop

In this one you can see little puffs of smoke, but they disappear as fast as they appear.

I havent shot any SS197 though it yet.

I have noticed with my pistol the 197 seems to shoot "dirty" in it and makes a pretty good fireball to when rapid firing. Sems like there is lot more cleaning to be done after using 197, not really sure what the difference is between the 197 n 195 to make that much of a difference but it does, different poweder maybe?

yeah different powder could be a Likely culpret...and it would make sense to possibley use another powder with the "heavy" bullet.
