It is free world and all, and everyone's tastes differ, but you asked and in my personal opinion that looks horrible. I SBR'd my rifle, and have a flashlight and sling mount on side rails I installed, and that is how I like it. I am a believer in KISS, I like my ARs simple as well, and the P90 was intended to be a KISS weapon. Now if you can't SBR it I suppose you could buy that rail attachment around the barrel(which I personally think is ugly), and a flashlight is OK, and maybe you want the aftermarket sight (although yes, buy an Eotech, or better yet pony up for the USSS sight) but why the vertical grip? The magazine already has 50 rounds, why put the clamp on? I don't re-load, so I don't care to add the brass catcher, either. One man's opinion, and it is nice in the end to have options. |
I've seen examples like the one you pasted here and "dressing the gun" like this is a little bit like a little girl dressing up her Barbie doll with every accessory she can get. It's fine if that is what appeals to you. However, firearms are supposed to be elegant tools, not Barbie dolls. You should stop for a second and ask yourself if these accessories add functionality that is worth the increase in bulk and weight or if they are just to impress strangers at the gun range. Personally, I pay very close attention to adding weight to my kit. I just don't want to have to carry more than I need. While I can see the usefulness of a sling, an EOTech, or even a brass catcher, some of the stuff in the picture just seems unnecessary. It's like the guy who attaches a holstered pistol to his rifle sling. pillbox put it very well. "once it goes from 7.25 pounds to as heavy as an M14 or M1 Garand due to bolt on doo-dads its no longer handy, and it becomes rather underpowered for its weight... [Big Snip] Keep it simple, and only put something on based on actuall need rather than looks." That's good advice. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people "tac" a gun out with all kinds of accessories. Usually, by the time they're done with creating their "Crook-Killer GT" the gun is no longer practical to carry or use as intended. |
| Oh, most of my firearms are not dressed at all. On my RRA and Bushmaster, all I have is an Aimpoint CompML2 (on each) with nothing else, as I normally prefer stripped-down from practicality. The PS90 is my hobby gun, and I bought it with that in mind. The mags are too expensive, the parts are hard to find, and the ammo is expensive as hell. My PS90 stays in my safe and makes an occasional range trip for the oh wow, what is that? effect - I leave the ARs equipped for the real deal. |

The weapon I originally posted is not an Airsoft weapon, despite the few expert opinions we have had on it. It's currently being offered on Gunbroker.com for $3200.00. I'd never buy it for that price, as many of the add-ons appear to be cheap imported things you can find on eBay for a hell of a lot cheaper than the $$$ he is asking for tricking it up. He is including alot of things to give the weapon a number of different looks. Take a look for yourself... Gunbroker link to the PS90 pictured in the original post... I like the forward rails and barrel shroud, they make the weapon just appear to be more of an SBR instead of just having a foot of plain old barrel sticking out the end. If I make any alterations to my personal PS90, I will probably go something like the last picture he has posted on the ad. |

That gun in the auction doesn't seem like its really for sale. Current auction is $3200 and it still hasn't reached the reserve price yet? The ad clearly states there's $1000 worth of extras so it is a $2500 package at best. Seems more likely an ad for accessories. The gun in the ad isn't even a factory black gun, its dyed black. Also, why would you need 3 extra 30-50 round magazine conversion plates? It comes with the factory mag that already has a conversion plate installed. Real nice pictures though. I don't doubt I'm going to get hell for this so fire away. |

I decided to buy two PS90's and keep one with the original factory accessories in place and the other may be updated with a tri mount and Aimpoint M3 for inside use. Keeping the PS90 as simple and cleen as possible is the way to go. I have seen all the funky add on accessories provided by various greedy toy dealers and one could only have a good laugh at some of the junk which includes the litheum lites, green laser gismos, and phony supressors shrouds. Keeping this gun lightweight and low is the way to go........ |

So then, this begs the question how much is too much? on my ps90 I added the side rails from HALO and put a small surefire Z2 and a green laser on them. I am estatic with the results since I can't hunt with it, it's just an expnsive toy. The green laser and light add almost on weight and donnot make it too bulky. BTW i like the factory site That said how much is too much. Please Share and if you want I will attempt to post pics I agree a VFG is overboard and WTF is up with the jungle mags?? Why?? that would lift your head so high you could never see the site properly. |

I have found that its just easier to keep these shooting platforms as simple as possible and maintain a relitive KISS method with all my shooting hardware from AR's to the AK74/100 series and keep the PS90 in the same boat for the best results. I would tent to imitate the way forien militaries use and maintain the P90 in special forces units with standard factory sights or the use of the Aimpoint M2/M3 with a mini flashlight as mission requirements demand. It really just boils down to want you want and how deep is your pocket is. I have spent some extra money on a good supply of extra magazines, you never know when unkle suger will suspend forien imports again, a goog tach sling and down the road upgrade with the Halo tri mount and red dot sight may be in order but i may just keep the factory sights for both units. The last thing i need is to worry about battery cost, maintenance on expensive lasers and parts, funky rail shrouds with useless grips and heat vents. This crap reminds me of the mini 14 accessory craze during the mid eighties,..Haaaa |
