I don't even know enough about gun smithing to be dangerous. My Shrike bolt is stuck forward with a round in the chamber (I think) I have the upper removed from the receiver and I don't understand why the bolt carrier and the rest will not just slide back. So before I start putting a lot of pressure or force on anything I thought it best to ask experts how to best approach the problem.

| There seems to be some type of lock under the feed tray that is holding the bolt in. I am going to check the manual to see what it says. It seems that this deal has moved over into a groove in the bolt holding it in. I just don't want to force something the wrong way and break it. |
| I managed to figure out hoe to release the bolt. I think though my charging handle is stripped. Probably from too much use trying to get belt running in the beginning. After slightly expanding I have had good luck. I am going to email Ares and Ruben M at DealerNFA to check on a replacement. I won't be able to run it till I get one. FYI. I bought one of Tom Cassidy's extended bolt catches and installed it tonight on my receiver and it is nice in form and I think the function will be great too. Actually I didn't even know that the bolt would catch back till after ordering the replacement. Even after finding out trying to work that dinky thing from Ares was almost impossible. |

Ares CS sucks dick because all the operators and CS reps are cunts-to be polite. You should not have to expand the links to work. Its probably a geometry/ link issue. A design flaw Ruben will tell you to call ares. He wont have anything to do with it. He just sells them. The better option to a bolt catch is to bend the top half of a regular bolt catch out- save a shit load of money. All easy fixes, but you have found out the same as many others, the shrike is a finicky cunt, and the odds are usually against you. |
