Thank you guys for the suggestions and help with my prior Shrike question. I learned if using a A2 stock a buffer spacer is needed. I purchased a Fostech Defender15 slide fire stock. They failed to provide the buffer spacer that should have come with my unit. While their stock is great it's all aluminum and preforms well once you get into the groove. Their customer service sucks. The have yet to replace the missing spacer even after 2 emails and a phone call. I purchased a Spikes unit and it's doing the trick. I am expanding the links slightly and coating the liberally WD40 and having pretty good luck with PMC. I am going to try some 5.56 – 62gr – M855 out of Romania.
I am going to try to post some video. If you guys could please analysis the ejection pattern for proper gas adjustment. I think I may be running to low a setting since it appears to be ejection rearward and the manual says it should be perpendicular. Could y'all explain with pictures if possible how to tell what the setting is. It is not clear to me from reading the manual and the diagram supplied. I seem to be able to only turn it once any way. I am going to attempt to post links to 3 but I am not sure of the procedure here. 1 short belt, 1, mag. and the other a good belt run but doesn't show ejection. I will add others showing ejection's If I can locate them. Thanks Tom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ACWIHFjKiQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sbq_u07lw8o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpPeYtA4r1w Sorry I could not get a direct link but cut & paste will work. Instruction on posting video would be appreciated. |

As you're aiming down the sights:
Port 3 (high gas) detent at the 1 o'clock position Port 2 (medium gas) detent at the 11 o'clock position Port 1 (low gas) detent at the 7 o'clock position Gas off - detent at the 5 o'clock position ---------------------------------------------------------------- I usually keep mine on Port 2 medium setting. I suspect your sliding stock is affecting the ejection pattern. Can you lock the stock and see if the ejection pattern changes? |

Overall the ejection pattern doesn't look terrible.
Check the gas regulator setting via HKPDW's notes above. I would also like to see a video of the stock locked and firing Federal LC M193. If the regulator is not on the suppressor setting (Port 1) than I would suspect that it may be a combination of your stock soaking up some of the recoil impulse and effecting the ejection pattern and/or combined with slightly lowered powered PMC ammo. Overall I think PMC runs 100 to 200fps slower than real M193 which the shrike was designed around. |

I am ordereing a few items from Midway and they have this ammo that I can get a couple of boxes of looks lie almost the same as the Lake City stuff will this work? Federal American Eagle Ammunition 5.56x45mm NATO 55 Grain XM193 Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail. Also what about this sling mount? Troy Industries OEM M4 Receiver End Plate Sling Mount Adapter 2 Position Ambidextrous with Quick Detach Sling Swivel AR-15, LR-308 Carbine Aluminum I am picking up this mount & a single point midway sling Vltor SASE-2 Receiver End Plate HK Loop Sling Mount Adapter Ambidextrous AR-15, LR-308 Carbine Steel Black. We have had several days of rain so I have not been back out to do any more shooting but as soon as I do I will post some more on ejection pattern. Also looks like I am at the 11:00 position on the gas port. |

If the youtube link works it shows the stock locked and firing a few rounds in semi auto but it looks like they are ejecting to the rear. If the link doesn't work I guess I need some help not only with the Shrike but on how to post video also. Up side is that with some expanding of the links and lube and a Uptight Tom Cassidy box it's running pretty good. |

Looks fine to me. Better 4:00 than 2:00. |

Gas setting is at the 11:00 position. Also Fostech failed to send a buffer spacer with my stock after several emails ( they said had been involved in a move ) they sent me one. I had been using a Spikes. The Fostech is a little longer so that might help. Though it is now running pretty good. I have about 500 rnds through the belt feed now and with a slightly expanded link and sprayed with lube it ran the PMC, Romanian NATO and a few steel cased Wolf.
BTW what is the trick to posting video links? |

Hard to tell if it's the stock or the upper... |
