You still need a class 3 ffl or is the c&r good enough for that? The procedure is the same as any for other machine gun. If you have a C&R FFL, it can transfer direct to you. No need for an in-state FFL/SOT to handle the transfer for you. Otherwise, no different. |

Yeah - And it's still have the same procedure to transfer it to you. I understand state law limits their options. But he paperwork is still the same. |

The only C&R "m16" guns that I'm aware of are the Colt / Armalite AR15 Model 01 (ie. Model 601). Looking for one of these.... anybody know where to find one? Minnesota only allows C&R Ruben Mendiola has had a few come up for sale in the past few years. Currently doesn't have any listed. |

Minnesota only allows C&R First, only the early 601s –– the ones with the receiver rollmarked both "Colt" and "Armalite" –– are C&R. On the later 601s, Colt dropped the "Armalite" engraving, and these are not listed by ATF as C&R. I've seen three C&R 601s for sale in the past 12 months. I don't know of any for sale at the moment. If you want one, monitor the sales boards on subguns.com and Sturmgewehr.com,and be prepared to act fast. As far as market value, they used to carry a premium over factory M16A1s (603/604/etc.), but since the market took a hit, they have dropped down to an equal standing. That means that for a complete, nice original-finish example, you'll pay $13-14k; I have seen ones with refinished metal or a fair amount of cosmetic wear go for $11-12k. HTH. |
