Don't know about the OP's gun ... but as far as the one in my photo: Guy was running rough terrain, tripped and fell. Unfortunately, the barrel and buttstock caught on elevated rocks, and his entire weight landed on the center of the receiver and pushed it about a foot lower than the muzzle and buttplate.

No, it was not a transferable MG. And yes, it was welded up, though I'm not sure if I would trust my life to the repaired gun.

People that just bought M16's need to know.


I doubt that what happened to his gun would have anything to do with anyone elses M16. Its not a design flaw that will cause a recall on them. Its something that happened to his gun, fell on it, dropped it, ran it over with a truck, etc.

I don't know how you could grin after that but I would definitely do the first part - and pray my high dollar value item rider would cover it, or get ready to be out a lot of $$$
