hey, had a problem the last time out doing some burst practice. had a jam with a oob kaboom. only thing that got hurt was the hammer. to that end i ordered a couple of new hammers. when they came, they did not look like the other one. the new ones trip tail came to a flat point instead of the normal blunt trip. did not know there were two different types. what were the ones i got ?  thanks!

Hope this helps, it shows it being slightly blunt on the M16 hammer, you should be good as long as it will still be caught by your sear.

Pictures would help.  It sounds like maybe you got a DPMS hammer instead of an M16 hammer.

This is a DPMS hammer-it is basically an M16 hammer but without the part on the hook that the auto sear would catch.  No notch on the front either.
