Have any of the SHRIKES or conversion kits for the mag fed uppers been shipped yet?

There has been about a double handful (over the years) of Shrikes delivered.

I am more concerned about ordering the new upper they have, and adding the belt fed kit.

I will not buy anything until I can verify that the conversion exists.

Personally, ARES will never see another cent of my $$$.

Then don't hold your breath. Sure, they say the conversion is coming, but so has the shrike for the last 10 years. Take it for what its worth.

If you're talking about the current upper that Ares is selling, that is adaptable to adding the beltfed, then yes Ares has them and is shipping regualrly.  I believe Denny's has several in stock.

I have a shrike on order, and I'm guessing this allows Geoff to generate cash flow.  If whatever feed tray issues he's having are fixed, then you can take the upper and just add the belt fed option.

I'm not happy with Ares or Geoff for the lack of communication or not delivering my Shrike, but it's not accurate to say that he's not shipping the mag fed uppers.

We purchased a couple of the mag-feed uppers from Dennys and they work like a charm. According to my direct inquiries to Ares, there will be a belt-feed conversion but there was no mention in their reply as to a timeframe.

FWIW, I also inquired about additional barrels and I was left with a non-commital response as to when/if they will be made available so for now the whole thing is still a big mystery.

I can say though that the uppers they're selling now are okay and except for some fairly crappy anodizing on the upper, it's a neat rig.

Yeah.. I already have several mag fed uppers. As for gas pistons, you couldn't give one of those too me.

ARES is totally missing the point. The SHRIKE was cool because of its belt fed option. I dont think anyone was all excited over its gas piston-ability.

Once ARES starts to sell belt fed conversions.. I will order one. Not any sooner though.

The only way Ares will get any of my money is if they start produceing and shipping many uppers with lots of feed mechs in high numbers. Other than that I'll keep buying from honest companys. I'm not holding my breath.
